On May 30, 2026, there was a benefit at Plantage Dok organized by the Local Gr0up & Ganok Collective order to raise funds in solidarity with Ukraine.
We were very happy to provide the space for many different groups, including queer, antifascist, feminist and internationalist solidarity groups, among others, to resist the murderous Russian aggression and support the prisoners taken captive by Russia. We stand in solidarity with groups resisting foreign aggression and all forms of oppression and gladly facilitate such events.
We draw a clear and explicit line, however, at the inclusion or participation of fascists and the far right in any way or form.
Certain people present at the event have known links to the far right. This was not known to us at the time and should not have been tolerated by anyone.
Furthermore, there was imagery displayed belonging to the Azov Brigade, a Ukrainian formation with explicit far-right, neo-Nazi roots. This appears to have been an isolated incident and was in no way representative of the entire event; nonetheless, even the isolated incident should not have been tolerated.
Needless to say, we were shocked to hear about this, and we are grateful to the people who notified us.
We understand that the issue of the Russia-Ukraine war is extremely complicated and that no simple formula does justice to the many layers and processes involved. But we hope we have provided some needed clarity on this important point.
