“Israel in The Hague: One Palestinian’s Fight for Justice” (16 min)
This short film follows Ismail Ziada’s lawsuit against Israeli military leaders, including Benny Gantz, after a 2014 airstrike on his family home in Gaza’s Bureij camp killed his mother, three brothers, sister-in-law, and 12-year-old nephew.
While Ismail has no illusions about international law delivering true justice for Palestinians, he believes cases like his are essential. As he told the Middle East Monitor: “It’s a fight that you have to fight. It’s not about winning or losing, it’s about not giving up. It’s an act of resistance.”
