DESCRIPTION:On October 17th we will be hosting the 8th edition of our beloved Cement series. This time around we have invited Jasmine Wood for a live rendition of parts of her ambient debut Piano Reverb (AD93) and newer works on grande piano. Mel Keane will join this evening filled with reverberations.\nJasmine Wood is American composer\, producer and multi-disciplinary artist based in Dublin\, Ireland. Wood initially developed her craft within the Pacific Northwest DIY scene\, curating all-ages venues in her hometown Portland\, Oregon\, while writing and performing under the monikers ‘Haste’ and ‘Lota Leona’. This year she worked together with Pavel Milyakov aka Buttechno to reconceptualize two selected works from her ambient debut “Piano Reverb” (2024). \nMel Keane is a composer and visual artist from Dublin. Drawing from Ireland’s various musical histories\, the post-emo online continuum\, minimalist composition\, and sound system culture\, his practice explores how elements of inherited sound cultures can be embraced\, rejected\, repurposed\, and fabricated.
