DESCRIPTION:OPENING EXPOSITIE LANDSCHAPSLIJNEN\ndubbelexpositie van Annelinde de Jong en Suzanne Glerum\n\nSuzanne Glerum en Annelinde de Jong presenteren tijdens deze dubbelexpositie Landschapslijnen gezamenlijk hun werk in de etalage van woon- werkpand Plantage Dok en in het atelier van Suzanne Glerum.\nSuzanne Glerum toont olieverfschilderen en Annelinde de Jong ruimtelijke papieren objecten. \nZe vinden elkaar in hun omgang met de materie waarmee ze werken\, maar ook hun werkproces toont overeenkomsten. Voor allebei begint het werkproces buiten. Ze trekken eropuit\, het landschap in. Buiten verrichten ze ieder op eigen wijze veldwerk. In het landschap zet Suzanne Glerum de eerste lijnen in haar schetsboek. Niet om het landschap letterlijk weer te geven\, maar om het gevoel van in het landschap zijn te vangen. Annelinde de Jong verzamelt het landschap op een letterlijke manier: op verschillende buitenlocaties verzamelt ze plantaardig materiaal. Terug in het atelier dienen de schetsen als uitgangspunt voor de schilderijen. Touching on such hot topics as immigration\, homelessness\, racism\, education\, radical gender propositions\, the pandemic and gentrification\, these films not only explore visionary politics\, but are also chosen to stir our imagination and creativity. The essence of cinema is the collective experience\, and these screenings are aimed at creating intimate communities again in an increasingly hectic and fragmented world. \n  \n \nMANDABI   1968\n(Money Order)\nDirected by Ousmane Sembène\n92 minutes\nIn Wolof with English subtitles \nOusmane Sembène is a seminal figure in African cinema\, and was also a profound writer. When he arrived in France\, he encountered racism immediately as a worker at a Citroen car factory\, and later on the docks of Marseille. When he was inspired to make movies he tried to get into the film school in Paris which rejected him\, probably for racial reasons\, so he went to study cinema in Moscow instead\, where he was accepted. Directly after making an international splash with his biting debut Black Girl (1966)\, he began working on this movie in his homeland of Senegal. As I mentioned\, he was also a writer\, and here he takes one of his short stories and conjures up this Kafkaesque flick about postcolonial bureaucracy set in West Africa. \nIt follows the story of a Senegalese man who has some cash sent to him from Paris\, which might seem like an easy task\, but in the hands of Sembène it ends up being a wild critique of the modernized world and how money functions in society. But let’s be clear\, although this film is about a nightmare\, it carries with it a breezy sense of humor\, warmth and absurdity—it’s a razor sharp satire\, but with a deep humanitarian edge. \nThis will be a high-definition screening. \nFree screening.

Let’s grow our brains together as we discuss hot topics in our Fossil Free Agriculture Campaign. We are ready to get cozy and dive deep into the first of four reading group topics\, and we need your help to foster a rich co-learning environment!  \n\n\n\n\nFor this session\, we will focus on the role of gas in industrial agriculture. How many fossil fuels are actually in our food? How does this industry continue to grow under the radar? Together we investigate how fossil fuels\, and increasingly gas\, are deeply engrained in the food system. We will provide a list of materials in different formats to prepare for the meeting\, such as articles\, information videos\, zines\, podcasts\, etc.\, so you can engage with the topic according to your capacity and interests. To help us create an interesting discussion and learn about these topics together\, we will aim to include someone outside of ASEED with particular knowledge on the given topic. They use DIY tapeloops\, old tascams\, walkmans\, synthesizers and samples.\n\n PABLO DIAS\n“The Gold Fish Club”\nAn audiovisual improvisation setup by Pablo Dias. It’s a laboratory where audio and video devices\, new and old\, professional and amateur\, are recombined live in order to generate images and sounds.\nPablo is interested in how these machines work as objects — their materiality\, the physicality of their low-resolution signals\, how they can be arranged in space\, how they invite certain physical interaction.\nAlso he is fascinated by their expressiveness – how these dated and ‘limited’ technologies can produce images and sounds that are often more intriguing to our eyes and ears than the latest pristine technologies and almost infinite resolutions.\n\n DJ Superinca\naka Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti melts\, melds and calls upon her roots system\, to spin some hot songs.
